About The Design Industry Advisory Committee
The Design Industry Advisory Committee (DIAC) is a not-for-profit, interdisciplinary design think tank, established in 2001 by the City of Toronto. Its purpose is to demonstrate and advance the value and impact of interdisciplinary design while leveraging the capabilities of the design workforce to improve economic, social and environmental outcomes across Toronto, Ontario and Canada.
Drawing on the collective expertise of its members and partners, DIAC develops and facilitates research, fosters dialogue, and enables collaboration across disciplines and sectors. Its work connects design with business strategy, public policy, and community priorities, positioning design as a critical driver of innovation and positive change.
Building on a strong foundation of research and industry engagement, DIAC acts as a convener of diverse perspectives, promoting interdisciplinary approaches to address complex challenges and opportunities.
DIAC board members include representatives of professional associations for architects, landscape architects, urban planners, industrial, interior, graphic and fashion designers in Ontario.
