We are pleased to share that our Board Director Tim Haats will be presenting the paper, “AI as an Accelerator of Design’s Professional Identity Transition: Implications for Leadership and Organizational Capability”, at the upcoming DMI Conference.

The study explores how AI is shaping the future of design, from transforming design processes and roles to raising questions around organizational readiness, capability gaps, and erosion and reframing of design value. AI is perceived primarily as a systemic disruptor intensifying an existing shift from production-centered design work toward leadership-oriented responsibilities, accelerating an ongoing transition in design’s professional identity.
